LJ Da Funk is the brainchild of Laughing Horse New Act of the Year finalist 2013, Zak Splijt.
As LJ, he has since reached two Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year semi-finals and relishes the diminished success.
A self-styled New York gangster, he is loud, brash, and full of energy. LJ tells jokes that are ostensibly idiotic but with wit and wisdom bubbling under the surface, on topics ranging from Enoch Powell and Ugandan homophobia, to his myriad yet always disastrous sexual encounters.
LJ is known for peppering his routine with audience-shout-along catchphrases, especially during the panto season.
“Savvy enough to recognise his own incompetence” – Chortle, on Zak Splijt.
