Jay started performing in 2009 and quickly established himself as an act who was one to watch. Jay has cheeky and very likeable demeanour with a set full of clever observations and sharp punchlines. Jay is a confident and commanding performer and is also a commanding compere able to control any room.
A regular on the festival circuit Jay has performed at ‘Beat herder’, ‘Kendall Calling’ & ‘Bearded Theory’ as well as taking his debut solo show entitled Jay Hampson ‘Tries His Best’ to Daves Leicester Comedy Festival in 2016.
Jay has won a variety of competitions and featured in the final of many more as listed above, he also appeared in the Semi Final of the Laughing Horse New Act Of The Year in 2012 and has regularly appeared on BBC Radio Manchester.
