1pm – DANIAL COOK: CARPET (WIP)
A new stand-up show from ‘hilarious faced’ (List) idiot Daniel Cook. I wanna talk to you face-to-face about my new pet cat. As seen and heard on BBC One, Channel 4, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 2. ‘Frenetic and hilarious… Superb’ **** (List). ‘This is excellent stand up’ **** (Edinburgh Festivals Magazine). ‘Had the crowd roaring with laughter’ **** (ThreeWeeks).
2pm – ROB OLDHAM: WORM’S LAMENT (WIP)
Rob Oldham, Amused Moose Breakthrough Comic 2017 and tour support for John Kearns and Abandoman, considers politics, youth and death. He does jokes to ensure this is funny. Worm’s Lament is an hour of stand-up, reflective nostalgia and ambient anxiety drawing on Rob’s ‘quirky, offbeat sensibilities that distil into smart jokes that rarely sound like anyone else’s’ (Chortle.co.uk).
3pm – ANDREA HUBERT: HOLES OF JOY (WIP)
Life is a heavy blanket of sadness and if you want joy, you’ve got to poke some holes. Yes, that’s basic Buddhism, but let’s let her think she invented it, okay? Join BAFTA prize-winning writer Andrea as she tries to make the world a better place. Not the whole world, of course. Just a tiny corner. Trigger warning to bee lovers, porn haters and people who feel weird when a Jew says the word ‘Jew’ – there’ll be lots of that type of nonsense. ***** (BroadwayBaby.com).
4pm – IAN SMITH: CRAFT (WIP)
Multi award-winning comedian Ian Smith (BBC Three’s Sweat the Small Stuff, Dave’s The Magic Sponge podcast) returns. This show will include theatrical techniques such as shouting and moving around. There will also be some origami. At long last. Amused Moose Comedy Award and ThreeWeeks Editors’ Award winner 2017. ‘Catch him now before his inevitable jump to the big time’ (Telegraph). ‘One of the best you will see at the festival’ (Mirror). ‘A riot of sprightly silliness’ (Chortle.co.uk). ‘Proper star quality’ (Guardian). ***** (ThreeWeeks). ***** (Mirror). **** (Chortle.co.uk). **** (Metro). Book early!
