Sy Thomas

“Highly enjoyable” (Time Out)

“Extremely talented… charming and captivating” (edinburghlove.com)

“A lot of talent – one to watch out for in the future” (cheekycomedy.co.uk)

Sy Thomas has performed stand-up comedy throughout the UK – at clubs including the Amused Moose, Comedy Café, Jongleurs, The Komedia, The Pleasance, London and Edinburgh, and the Comedy Store, London and Manchester – as well as regularly at venues for Off the Kerb, CKP and Mirth Control.

His cheeky, friendly manner, and natural improvisational ability, make him an extremely popular and in-demand compere – and he has been honing his skills as resident co-host at the highly regarded ‘Falling Down with Laughter’ in London Bridge, which won ‘Best Small London Comedy Venue’ at the 2008 Chortle Awards.

In August 2009 Sy and fellow comedian (and housemate) Simon Feilder took their debut show ‘Life of Si’ to the Edinburgh Festival to great acclaim. The show, mixing sketches, videos, solo stand-up and double-act style banter, received glowing reviews across the board: “raw talent… set to be big news in the near future”(allthefestivals.com), “slickly presented and exuding chemistry” (the list), “sizzling chemistry… impeccable timing… a ’Si-zable’ success” (three weeks)

‘Life of Si’ have since gone on to perform at the Leicester and Brighton Comedy Festivals, filmed regular sketches for Wordia.com, and been chased around by robots for CBBC’s ‘Bamzooki’. Sy’s wide-ranging comedy acting skills have also been put to use in the much-loved sketch group ‘Cat of the Week’, and most recently, as the main role in Vodafone’s huge viral film ‘Office Grand Prix’ alongside Lewis Hamilton, which gained over a million views in it’s first week online.

Sy is also a versatile and experienced TV presenter – having fronted all of Nickelodeon’s live studio shows and continuity links for nearly 2 years. In that time he interviewed numerous Hollywood A-Listers, got covered in hundreds of buckets of slime, and frequently dressed up as a cockney Tomcat. His natural warmth, charm and humour as a presenter have lead to further projects for Virgin Mobile, MTV, CBBC, and alongside fellow comedian Alexis Dubus, in the documentary film ‘End of the Road’ from Swift Films.

Most recently Sy has been covering red-carpet film premieres, band interviews, and on-the-street vox-pops, for entertainment show ‘Unlimited’ on Facebook.
